This is an unpaid internship opportunity that would require around 10 hours a week during the summer semester - perfect for the individual that may need job experience towards their college degree.  The ideal applicant for this position will provide support to the Community Engagement Director and Team as needed, and perform duties which include but are not limited to the following: 

    1. Overall purpose of this position:
    • Provide support to the Community Engagement Manager and Team as needed. Perform duties which include but are not limited to the following:  o Assist with implementing marketing plans, in particular, with marketing focused on recruiting foster parent, respite foster parents and mental health clients o Assist with writing press releases, articles for the newsletter/social media for the agency o Assisting with event planning for current event
    1. Major activities which must be performed in order to execute this position:
    • Provide support to the Community Engagement team as needed. Examples included but are not limited to the following: o Perform basic office operations, i.e. enter contacts and donors into database o Assist with set-up and tear-down at events  o Assist with processing donations acknowledgements and mailings o Assist with developing marketing and sponsorship proposals o Assist in researching possible new donors/sponsors o Take photographs during events to document sponsorship benefits o Assist with calling donors to thank them for their contribution
    1. Qualifications:
    • Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position include:
    • Broad general knowledge and course knowledge in marketing or public relations
    • Ability to operate various office equipment: copier and fax, digital camera
    • In-depth organizational skills; demonstrated ability to relate with the public
    • Demonstrated strong writing and communication skills
    • Computer skills; Excel, Microsoft Office and Word, e-mail, internet
    • Demonstrated prioritization and multi-tasking skills
    • Demonstrated extreme attention to detail
    • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
    • A sound degree of common sense
    • Previous experience in working with the public
